Dealing with the Pandemic: What Your New Beauty Routine Looks Like

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way we live, work, and play. It’s also completely changed our beauty routine. With the addition of face masks as part of our wardrobe, there has been no better time than now to accentuate the eyes.

Your smile is your calling card. It’s the first thing that people notice when meeting you. During this pandemic, it can be hard to share that toothy grin of yours. The face mask you don covers up your smile, rendering that new shade of lipstick you just boughtobsolete.

Introducing Cloth Face Masks as Part of the ‘New Normal’

If months in lockdown working from home have taken their toll on your beauty routine, don’t worry. You have time to come up with a new plan for how you’ll take care of your skin and apply makeup. With cloth facial masks serving as your new fashion accessory, you’ll want to be mindful about how the covering affects your face anyway.

A little extra TLC can prevent your face from breaking out. Making it a point to gently cleanse and moisturize your skin each day gives you the perfect blank canvas to work with regularly. You’ll be able to apply your makeup with greater ease when you have smooth, healthy skin.

Give Your Eyes Extra Attention Each Day

Even if you’re sheltering-in-place and only leaving home to pick up necessities from the grocery store and pharmacy, you can still look beautiful. Focus on your eyes and accentuate your lashes. A mask may cover your mouth, but people can still look into “the windows of your soul” and feel your emotions.

Look Chic While Staying Safe

The following tips can transform the way you look and feel appearance-wise while safely preventing the spread of the coronavirus:

  • Invest in makeup that stays put once it’s applied.Long-lasting makeup won’t budge no matter how many times you remove and reapply the mask on your face.
  • Wash your face masks regularly to prevent breakouts from occurring. It’s highly beneficial for you to have several masks available that you can rotate out.
  • Keep your hands off your face as much as possible.Conscientiously avoid touching your skin.
  • Do not share cosmetics with other members of your family. Most people do not do this but certainly shouldn’t during a global pandemic because of how quickly germs travel from one person to another.

Your new beauty routine may not be what you expected it would be currently. That doesn’t mean that you can’t embrace change with enthusiasm. If you’re used to spending money on lipsticks and lip glosses, invest in new eyeshadows, eyeliners, and mascaras. Play with color and shimmer by using a shadow with glitter in it.

A Little Creativity Goes a Long Way in Helping You Look and Feel Your Best

The more creative you get with your pandemic beauty routine, the less taxing it becomes to you emotionally. You can still look your best when you leave the house. You may find that you spend more time getting ready for an outing because you haven’t been able to leave home much in weeks. It may be the complete opposite for you by dramatically lessening the time spent on applying makeup. A quick coat of mascara on your lashes may be all that you need to feel like yourself once again.
